The Challenge

Cloud21 were employed originally in an assurance role to provide board level confidence on the implementation of Lorenzo.

Following the identification of serious issues within the data migration workstream that were partially responsible for a delay to the programme, the Cloud21 data migration and informatics team were engaged to support a revised go live.

The Approach

The team initially reviewed and subsequently redeveloped significant elements of the logic used to define the source data and transform the data into IFFs for Lorenzo. The team were given limited time to resolve the most serious issues and limited opportunity to fully test the revised processes through ‘end to end’ loads. The team worked closely with the Trust and CSC to validate data within the IFFs against the CSC pre load validation tools (DVAS).

The team successfully delivered the Trust elements of the data migration over the weekend of 14th / 15th November 15.

The team delivered an ‘incomplete’ RTT position to within 318 records of the pre migration position. This was from a cohort of over 277,000 migrated pathways and an incomplete position of just over 29,000 pathways. Assurance of the RTT position was a critical determiner for the operational management to confirm the Trust decision to go live.

The team has continued to support the Trust to triage and in some cases resolve data migration issues and have also implemented the IDS to provide additional reporting metrics from the Lorenzo extracts and the Millennium source data.

How did our work deliver value to the Client?

Cloud21 were able to recover the position quickly, enabling the Trust to reach go live without further delays and with confidence in the migrated data. A seamless and reliable transition of service was delivered without significant risk or disruption to service.

The Trust had expected to undertake an extensive manual validation and data entry exercise post go live. The reconciliation activities completed by Cloud21 significantly reduced this timeline, enabling the Trust to quickly return to business as usual with confidence in the data they were working with.
